All tablets have a WiFi connection and if you are a bt customer but what happens when you are not inrange of any hotspot but really need a connection.
It’s been a while since i last got my sewing machine out. I posted last year about a couple of projects i did to get me started in the realms of sewing. Something i hadn’t done since GSCE textiles!
I’ve been itching to make something recently and accidently came across a pattern for a notebook and crayon holder for kids on Etsy. As i’m fairly new to this i need guidelines and me being me, want to know i’m doing it right!
This pattern is a very simple PDF document but was great because it was so simple! An example of these patterns can be found on their blog at Adirondack-Mama.
So here’s my first attempt – learnt a few things along the way. This one is for my daughter and now my Son wants a Star Wars one
Whilst giving the kids play shed a bit of a Spring clean during the Easter holidays I decided to give the kids art easel a bit of a revamp. The chalk just wasn’t ‘sticking’ but I didn’t want to get rid of it. I’ve not used chalkboard paint before so decided this was a good time to try.
Me and my Son gave it a go one sunny morning. First we wiped it all clean and left it to dry. Then after giving the paint a good mix off we went with painting it.
A small tin went a long way and so we did some of the inside of the play shed door too!
Above – Before we started painting the chalk wasn’t really making an impression on the board.
FINISHED! You can see that the board is a lot darker and the colour of the chalk, more vibrant
We used Wilkinson’s own brand chalk paint which was £3.60 for 250ml.
Two good friends of mine run www.somethingspecial4kids.co.uk. They have a great variety of childrens toys, activity books and gifts. I recently purchased the Melissa and Doug Hangman game from them and below you will find my first ever video blog! With the help of my 6 year old Son, we got there in the end (i think!).
Apologies for the small screen view. First time video on a tablet! View in full screen for a better view!

Believe it or not the nights are getting lighter, who would have thought it with the state of the weather? If you don’t believe me just have a little peek out the curtains tonight! Yes we know they’ll be shut at 5pm to keep the cold out but go on take a look, spring is trying (just a little).
With that in mind it’s usually the time of year we start having a clear out, think about decorating or just generally sprucing up an area.
If your sofa is in need of brightening up then we have some fabulous handmade cushions in contemporary and traditional fabrics.
Handmade Fabric Bunting is a great way to spruce up a drap area and it also looks great on bedsteads. It looks equally brilliant in the garden for Summer BBQ’s and if you are luckily enought to have a summer house then why not decorate it in one of our beautiful lengths of bunting.
We’ll have more from our Home Decor and Accessories on our blog next week.
